Walk to End Alzheimer’s

May 15, 2012

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a major contributor towards Alzheimer research, held its annual walk this year at Harrybrooke Park on May 5th.  Cecilia Buck-Taylor, her husband, Bill Taylor, and her friend, Katie Fina, all walked the 3 mile course as members of “Team – Buck-Taylor.”

It was great to see so many friends and supporters at the walk including Michael Gold from Geron Nursing, Carolyn Haglund – the Director of the New Milford Senior Center, and long-time supporters to end Alzheimer’s, Ray and Marie Crawford.  The people who participated ranged from infants to senior citizens and everyone was given a flower to commemorate the ways in which Alzheimer’s has touched their lives.  A special thanks to Carol Lenz, Patricia Gibbs and Kathy Butler who were the top fundraisers.

In a country where over 5.4 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, the contributions of everyone who joined the walk will help make the future a more hopeful place for those with Alzheimer’s and those caring for loved ones who struggle with coping with this disease.  Please take the time to consider adding your contribution or volunteering your time to end Alzheimer’s at http://newmilfordwalk.kintera.org.

Please give us a call if we can help you or your loved one through this difficult time through assistance with the sometimes daunting agencies and their procedural requirements or estate planning to protect the future.
